Presenting important conferences and seminars for professional development, producing leading-edge educational products, certifying qualified auditing professionals, providing quality assurance reviews and benchmarking, and conducting valuable research projects through The IIA Research Foundation are just a few of The Institute's many activities.

Next Workshop & Luncheon: May 9th 2008
Gathering information is an integral part of any investigation or audit. Learn the proper way to take a statement. Learn when to ask questions, when to ask for the statement and how to obtain the most information. Of utmost importance, you will learn how to maintain a rapport with the person you are investigating without revealing what you know or don't know about the case.
Identifying deception is a crucial component of any audit or investigation. Obtaining truthful information is critical to the fraud examiner, auditor or investigator. Discover how a truthful person speaks vs. an untruthful person. This introduction to statement analysis will change the way you interpret what others say. Participants will gain an understanding of how statement analysis can be used in any information gathering situation.
During the luncheon, the NY Chapter will present awards to chapter members for volunteer appreciation, general awards, and new certifications to those recently passing the CIA exam.
